Takemitsu Takizaki was educated at Amagasaki Industry High School. His wealth comes entirely from Keyence. The company, which he founded, was chairman of until 2015, and is still on the board of, in the role of honorary chairman, is a manufacturer and supplier of electronic components and sensors used in factory automation systems. They also produce barcode readers, and digital microscopes.

Takemitsu Takizaki owns almost a quarter of Keyence, which is listed on the Tokyo stock exchange. In recent years the number of non-Japan based customers has increased, and now account for more than half of the company’s revenue.
