The Kwee Brothers Biography

The four Kwee brothers are Kwee Liong Keng, Kwee Liong Tek, Kwee Liong Seen and Kwee Liong Phing. They are the sons of Henry Kwee Hian Liong, who founded Kwee Inc Pte and the Pontiac Land Group, after emigrating from Fujian Province in China to Singapore. When he died in 1988 his sons inherited the business and continued to run the empire. The eldest, Kwee Liong Keng is the Managing Director of Pontiac Land. Over the years he has also held several other positions, many of them in the public sphere, the most notable one being Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Poland for Singapore.

The other three brothers are also represented in the group, Kwee Liong Tek is the chairman, while Kwee Liong Seen and Kwee Liong Phing are both directors. Pontiac Land Group (PLG) property portfolio in Singapore include several luxury hotels, high end office blocks and shopping malls and a medical facility.

The group have also branched out into the global real estate market, most notably in New York and Sydney. Several members of the third generation of Kwees are involved in the business, and as a family they are known for their support for the arts and education in Singapore, as well as for humanitarian causes.
