Kane Lim Biography

Kane Lim may come from one of the richest families in Singapore, but like them - who fled from China with just the clothes they were wearing, he has built up his success and wealth on the back of hard work and inspiration. His father made a point not to spoil his son when growing up, making him use public transport to get to and from school as opposed to the limousines some of his peers enjoyed.

When he was 17 Kane Lim took a small loan from his father to start his own shoe brand. He paid the loan off within two months and had made his first million by the time he was 20. It would have been easy for Kane to stay in Singapore permanently and work in the family firm, or use his associations and connections to get a step up in business and life. He chose the harder route however, going to Los Angeles to study fashion. He puts a lot of his subsequent success and popularity down to the fact that Rihanna followed him on Instagram, suddenly putting more attention onto him than he could have dreamed of.

He has expanded his horizons from just fashion, and currently has several real estate projects on the go both in Asia and the United States. He also uses his profile to raise awareness and money for charities.
