Tony Chen is a Taiwanese billionaire and Bachelor of Arts/Science from the National Cheng Kung University. In 1987, he co-founded Largan Precision with Scott Lin. Lin had founded Largan Optronic in 1969, Largan Precision coming evolving from that business along with a considerable investment.

Largan Precision is a world leader in its field today. In 2016 the company sold more than six and a half billion optical components. Today, it gets more than a third of its revenue from Apple, for whom it supplies 90% of the company’s rear lenses for its iPhones.

Tony Chen was chairman of the business, but after stepping down remains on the board, along with his wife.
