Born in Bankgkok, Chalerm Yoovidhya is the heir to his father’s fortune. Eldest son of Chaleo Yoovidhya, the creator of Krating Daeng and co-founder of the Red Bull Energy Drink Empire, Chalerm personally owns a 2% stake in Red Bull. He is also head of the family that still retains 51% of the drink with one of the most recognizable and iconic brands on earth. As well as its interests in sports including its own Formula 1 team, the energy drink itself sells in excess of 6.5 billion cans annually, in more than 170 countries.

Red Bull Thailand, run by Yoovidhya’s brother Saravoot, is currently engaged in a legal fight over trademarks with Red Bull in China. Chalerm’s son Vorayuth is on the run and wanted by Interpol relating to a fatal hit and run case in 2012.
